Hovsepian, Virginia “Ginger”, 86 of Plymouth, formerly of Roxbury, passed away peacefully on the evening of January 25, 2022, at her home surrounded by her three daughters. She was the beloved wife of the late Berj A. Hovsepian, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughters, Diane MacCormack and her husband Edward of Scituate, Nancy Broudy and her husband Scott of Plano, TX, and Karen Loftus and her husband Timothy of Scituate. Cherished grandmother of Lauren and Madolyn MacCormack, Rissa and Linsey Broudy and Ryan and Ian Loftus. She is also survived by brother James Murphy and Robert Murphy, and the late Walter, William and George Murphy.
Virginia was born on January 6, 1936 in Dorchester to the late Walter and Ethel (Chaisson) Murphy. She spent many years in the travel industry working for the airlines until she finally achieved her dream of opening her own travel agency with her husband and brothers. Beginning a new phase of life at White Cliffs with her beloved Berj, she became an avid golfer.
A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Bonaventure Church, 803 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet). Interment will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne. In lieu of flowers, contributions, in Virginia’s memory, may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, The Head and Neck Oncology Program, Development Office, 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215.
