His nieces Ashley and Chloe; nephews Garett, Ryan, Josh, Luke, Alex, nephew-in-law Bryan and soon to be niece-in-law Brigid—they’re all greatly saddened by his passing as well. All of his collective great-nieces and nephews— Zach, Chase, Shawna, Emma, Sophie and soon to be great-niece-in-law Morgan—are part of our family’s mourning.
Tim's grandchildren filled a very special part of his heart—Caden, Peyton and Dylan. To them he was "Gamp", ready to read that bedtime story, play yard games or share his endless passions including cooking, music (Allman Brothers Band), sports and so much more. Also loved Tim's step-grandchildren; Connor and Amelia.
Tim was born in Columbus, Ohio, before moving to New Jersey, and spent his high school years in Edison, NJ. He attended JP Stevens High School, where he was Jr Council V.P., and on the Varsity Football, Basketball and Baseball teams, among many other activities. After High School, Tim attended college for Business Management and continued throughout his life attending classes, thirsty for knowledge & always expanding his mind.
He married his high school sweetheart, Karen Laughlin in 1977, welcomed son Jason in 1979 and daughter Devon in 1982. His career took him to various places including NJ, PA, MA, NV, eventually retiring in Halifax, MA.
He began a distinguished career in Distribution & Warehouse Management mastering all facets of the business—transforming antiquated warehouse systems into high-tech automated systems for inventory management and efficient picking, packing and shipping services. His extended knowledge of the industry, lead to a variety of exciting opportunities with companies including; Renaissance Eyewear, Jafra Cosmetics, PartyLite and Amazon.
Tim was a generous, gentle sole, extending his friendship and compassion to everyone that touched his life. He was a true foodie and skilled chef, constantly cataloging recipies and serving up his food creations at home and as a restaurant owner in Sparks, Nevada—specializing in Smoked BBQ meats and family favorite side dishes.
Best of all, Tim was quite a jokester. Clever, quick-thinking, sharp-witted, truly happiest making people laugh and keeping his guests entertained with corny jokes and mischievous antics.
A Celebration of Life event will take place privately for family and friends at a later date.
