Tom spent much of his young adulthood pursuing a nomadic life, traveling throughout the US and making friends and lifelong memories along the way. He often spoke fondly of his time in Key Largo and could always regale you with a story of his various antics. Tom would soon join the United States Army where he would continue his travels all over Europe, most notably Germany, where he was stationed in the early 1980’s, just in time to immerse himself in the punk scene of that age. In civilian life, Tom went on to become a heavy equipment operator and hoisting engineer for multiple establishments including the Quincy Shipyard, PA Landers and finally the MWRA where he would establish his career and make many meaningful and lasting friendships. Tom was a man of many interests and talents, an avid reader, musician, painter and most recently, gardener. He was able to find immense meaning in the world around him and was always happy to share his insights through conversation and writing. He also greatly enjoyed time spent on white horse beach often accompanied by a book or simply on a walk with his wonderful dog Rosie. In Tom’s life he also greatly enjoyed sailing his boat Crescendo around Plymouth Bay. Tom wore many hats from Husband to friend and father, jester and magician, he was truly one of a kind.
