Sophia Ann (Smith) DelConte, 74, of Plymouth, MA (formerly of Sharon), passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth on January 3, 2019. She was the beloved wife of John R. DelConte. She was the cherished mother of Christopher DelConte and his partner Charles Ramos of Boston and Andrea Keyes and her husband Robert of Hanson. She was the doting grandmother of April Sophia Keyes and Nolan John Keyes of Hanson. She leaves behind her sister Donna MacAulay and her husband Douglas of Mansfield. She also leaves her two nieces, Diane Coletta of Harwich and Nancy Canan of Mansfield.
Sophia was born on May 14, 1944 in Indian Brook, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to Malcolm and Eva (Dominey) Smith. Sophia could be found often in the kitchen with her apron on, cooking and baking. She enjoyed art, painting, and country music. She was an avid reader and loved anything to do with the Titanic. She treasured her time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
A period of visitation will take place on Monday, January 7, 2019, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Davis Funeral and Cremation Home, 373 Court Street, Plymouth. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, 11:00 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38102, www.stjude.org or Shriner’s Hospitals for Children-Boston, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N.
