Shirley Doris Weber, age 96, of Plymouth, formerly of Natick passed away on Thursday, June 8th, at the BID Hospital in Plymouth. She was the devoted wife of the late Saul Weber. Loving mother of Jane D White and her husband Dick of Plymouth, and Ken J Weber and his wife Amy of Framingham and Bob B Weber of Natick, She was the proud grandmother of Jamie Tourtellot of Milford, Shawn White of Lowell, Kimberly White of Plymouth, Cara Lyons of Shrewsbury, Jared Weber of Lenox and Matthew Weber of Lenox. Shirley was the loving great grandma of eight great grandchildren.
Born in Pascoag RI, she was daughter of the late Romano and Alice (Clutier) Lavelle. Shirley grew up in Pascoag Rhode Island and went into show business at the young age of 5 years old and spent her childhood performing as a contortionist on the vaudeville circuit. During WWII she joined the USO, traveling to Europe and Asia Pacific and performing for US troops on the front lines. During her time in the USO, Shirley met an emcee and harmonica player named Saul Weber. They fell in love and had an unwavering marriage for more than 60 years.
