Scott McCloskey of Plymouth, passed away at home on December 13, 2022 at the age of fifty-nine after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of thirty-one years to Donna (Granara) McCloskey; loving father of Marisa Shore and her husband Paul of Plymouth, Matthew McCloskey of Plymouth, and Melanie Reddy of Sandwich; cherished grandfather of Skylie, Leo, and Giana; brother of Cheryl Shea of Plymouth, Kevin McCloskey of Lakeville, Charlene Murray of Abington, Kenny McCloskey of Weymouth, and Lori McCloskey of Brockton. Scott will be missed by Murphy, his beloved black lab.
Scott was born on May 3, 1963 in Boston to the late Philip and Anna (Umsted) McCloskey. He was a proud member of Local 6 in Boston where he worked as a Mechanical Insulator. He was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying hunting, hiking, and ATV riding in the mountains. In his spare time, he made walking sticks and passed them along to family and friends. Scott was extremely proud of his twenty-seven years of sobriety. He loved his family beyond measure and will be dearly missed.
A period of visitation will take place on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet). A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022, 10:00 am at the funeral home. The burial will follow the service at Plymouth County Cemetery, South Meadow Road, Plymouth.
