Obituaries
Royal A. Burgess passed away after a short illness on March 31, 2023, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston with his family by his side, he was just sixty-one years old. He was a graduate of Plymouth-Carver High School class of 1981. His family and friends will miss Royal's unique laugh, mischievous blue eyes, and his sayings.
Royal is survived by his sister, Sharon Burgess, and her partner Andrew Grignon of Kingston, his brother Gary Burgess of Plymouth, and his sister Lynn Cederquist and her husband David from Kingston. In addition to his siblings, Royal leaves behind his brother-in-law Sonny Hamblin, his nieces and nephews Kelli Burgess, Leif Burgess, and Briona Keller of Kingston, Jamie Hamblin, Chrystopher Hamblin, Brendan Hamblin-Jeddry, Karen Palmer, Richie, Lainie, Sophie and Wyatt Palmer of Buzzards Bay, Tiffany and Eric Wuestefeld, Nathyn Labbe of Plymouth, and Jake and Aubrey Fontaine of Pembroke.
Royal is predeceased by his parents Barbara Elaine and Allen Burgess and his sister Donna Hamblin.
Royal was a member of the Cristoforo Colombo Club where he shared camaraderie with his fellow members. He enjoyed his work and the people at Electropolishing Systems, Inc. of Plymouth.
A graveside service will be held on April 15, 2023, on Walnut Ave., in the Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601, or online at www.lung.org.
