Richard C. Pierce, age 87, of Plymouth, formerly of Pembroke, died Sunday January 20, 2013 at the Life Care Center in Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of Anne Whitaker Pierce. He is survived by his son Stephen Pierce and his wife Maggie of Savage, MN, his son David Pierce and his wife Elaine of Guilford CT, his daughter Kim Pierce and her partner Cheryl Wright of Shingle Springs CA, his daughter Karen Kelley and her husband Dennis of Billerica, his daughter Candace Pierce Lavin of Norfolk, and his son Christopher Pierce and his wife JoAnne of Melrose. Richard is also survived by his eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Born December 5, 1925 in Quincy MA, son of the late Clarence C. and Abigail C. Pierce. Richard was a graduate of Thayer Academy, MA Maritime Academy, and Harvard University. He served as a Merchant Marine and in the U.S. Navy. Richard later went on to work as the owner of the family business, CC Pierce Electrical Company. He loved reading, computers, fishing and boating. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9 at 11 a.m. at the East Congregational Church, East Milton. Donations in Richard's memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
