Obituaries
Richard E. “Ricky” Barros, age 62, of Lowell, formerly of Middleboro, passed away on Thursday, December 23rd, at his home in Lowell. He was the loving brother of Valerie (Barros) Grant and her husband Stan of Carver, and Lori Baker of Wellfleet, and step brother of Allen Baker, William “Bill” Baker, Pam Baker, and Cindy Baker. He is also survived by his niece Shannon Grant-Crisci, and nephew Kevin Grant.
Born in Brockton MA on October 6, 1959, he was the son of Nedra A. (Staples) Baker and John P. Baker. Ricky was a graduate of Middleboro High School class of 1977. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served in several locations, such as Turkey and Germany, until his honorable discharge in 1985.
Ricky loved entertaining people. Whether it was cracking jokes, or doing his number one passion, Karaoke. His love for running started in High School where he competed in track and cross country, and later in life he competed in the Pan Mass Challenge. Ricky had a passion for reading, especially Stephen King novels. When he wasn’t busy with one of his many hobbies, he could be found watching adult comedy cartoons, or the Three Stooges, with his beloved cat Tonka.
A visitation will be held at the Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court St. (North) Plymouth (in front of Cordage Park), on Thursday, January 6th, from 10:30 am till 11:30 am. Followed by a service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, in Bourne, at 12:45 pm. Donations in Ricky’s memory may be made to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway St. Lowell MA 01854.
