Rollin leaves behind his best friend and loving wife of 52 years, Carol (Jenkinson) of Plymouth, MA. He leaves a foster son, William Stanley (Amy) and their children Elizabeth and Jack, of Bluemont, Virginia. He leaves behind two nephews: James Russ (Helen) of Marshfield, MA; and Alan Jenkinson (Debbie) of Jensen Beach, FL. He also leaves behind five nieces: Deborah Jarocki (Joseph) of Riverside RI; Kathleen Goff (Richard) of Port ST. Lucie; Drucilla Marzano (Tracey) of East Granby CT; Jennifer Drysdale of East Granby CT and Earlene Russ-Ure (James) of Portland OR. Rollin was predeceased by his two sisters, Phyllis Drysdale of East Granby, CT and Beverly J. Russ of Kingston. MA and a niece Elizabeth Johnson (Robert).
Rollin was born in Gardner, MA to Rollin Eugene Johnson and Margaret Rhoads Johnson on January 13, 1933. He grew up in Templeton, MA and graduated from Templeton High School. Rollin went on to attend the Boston University School of Nursing and School of Theology. After receiving a masters in Ministry from the BU School of Theology, Rollin was ordained as a Congregational minister in Baldwinville, MA. He served various communities in New England as a Congregational minister including Baldwinville, MA; Lawrence MA; Ashby, MA; Halifax, MA; and Farmington, NH.
Rollin and his wife, Carol, also did charitable work serving the disadvantaged in many communities. They helped provide weekly meals and shelter with other members of their present church, The Church of the Pilgrimage in Plymouth. Carol and Rollin spent many Thanksgiving and Christmas mornings helping to feed those who had nowhere to go.
After retiring from the fulltime ministry, Rollin continued to serve as a visiting minister to the sick and disabled in hospitals, nursing homes and personal residences.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home 373 Court Street in Plymouth, MA 02360 on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Visiting hours will be at 11:00am preceding the memorial service. Burial will be private.
