Rev. Deacon Edward “Ed” F. Creutz of Plymouth, formerly of Brockton, died on Sunday, January 1st, at his home in Plymouth. He was the beloved husband of the Late Dorothy Marie (Hines) Creutz. Loving father of James E. Creutz of Marstons Mills, Michael P. Creutz of Plymouth, Patricia M. Becker of Wareham, and Monica M. West of Plymouth. Cherished grandfather of Ryan Creutz, Garrett Creutz, Jeffrey DeLappe, Michael Becker, Sarah Becker, Kevin Becker, Christopher Becker, Meaghan West, Timothy West and Zachary West. Great grandfather of Lillian, Raylynn, Tyler and Elizabeth. Brother of the late Laurence Creutz and Robert Creutz.
Born in Boston on April 20, 1933, son of the late Laurence and Mary (Streimikis) Creutz. Ed grew up in Dorchester and was a graduate of Boston Technical High School, Northeastern University and Emmanuel College. He made his career as a principal engineer with the Polaroid Corporation for 38 years. Ed had deep faith and was ordained a Deacon by the late Cardinal Medeiros. He served at St. Nicholas Parish in Abington and St. Kateri Tekakwitha in Plymouth. Ed loved the ocean, sailing, kayaking and especially enjoyed time on Cape Cod with his family.
A visitation will be held at St. Kateri Tekakwitha, 126 South Meadow Rd. Plymouth, on Sunday, January 8th, from 12:00 pm till 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following day in the church at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 1:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Kateri Tekakwitha, 126 South Meadow Rd., Plymouth MA 02360.
