Peggy Lee (Burton) Martin of Connecticut, passed away at William W. Backus Hospital in Connecticut on November 2, 2022 at the age of seventy-one. She was the wife of the late George Martin; sister of Ray Burton and his wife Judy of Plymouth, Marilyn Motta and her late husband Dennis of Plymouth, Bruce Burton and his wife Deborah of Florida, her twin sister, Marylou Burton of Connecticut, Gay Ducharme of Kingston, Helen Cimbron and her husband Ruben of Virginia, Butch Burton and his wife Jane of E. Bridgewater, Randy Burton and his wife Stephanie of Pembroke, Bobby Burton and his wife Deborah of Kingston and the late Gladys Sopko. She leaves her dear friend, Pat Taylor of Connecticut. She was the step-mother of George Martin, Jr. of Plymouth, Jean Chambers of Florida, Bernadette Wrightington of Plymouth, Alice Valdez of California, Stephanie Noel of Plymouth, and the late Linda Manhuex. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Peggy was born on February 11, 1951 in Plymouth to the late Raymond and Helen (Randall) Burton. She graduated from Plymouth-Carver High School and worked as an Operator for New England Telephone until her retirement. Peggy enjoyed going to the casinos and playing bingo. She loved the beach and spending time with her family.
A period of visitation will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court Street, Plymouth. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers that donations be made to a charity of one’s choice.
