Obituaries
Myles Joseph Kiley, 90, of Plymouth, MA, formerly of Concord, MA, passed peacefully surrounded by his adoring family on July 3, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Jeanne (Collins) with whom he shared a lifetime of love beginning at the early age of thirteen.
He was the son of the late Albert and Grace (Judge) of Belmont and brother to Mary Lou and Elizabeth Kiley of Kennebunk, Maine. He was a proud graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Waltham, MA and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He dutifully served his county as a U.S. Navy Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG), stationed in Honolulu, HI. He returned home to work at the family business, James A. Kiley Company, in Somerville, MA and raised his family in Concord, Ma.
Upon retirement, he assumed the helm of his beloved M/V Golden Pond which he navigated throughout the waters of Cape Cod and Buzzard's Bay. Along with his lifelong passion for the sea, he was a prolific reader and avid photographer. Myles was a lifelong and devote parishioner of St. Bonaventure's Parish in Plymouth.
Myles is survived by his children, Michael of Plymouth, Christopher of Carlisle, Maribeth of Plymouth, and Julie (Mark) Elder of Bedford, his grandchildren, Katelyn (Kristen) McCall-Kiley of Pittsburg, PA, and Kerry (Patrick) Byrne of Pittsburgh, PA, great grandchildren, Kiley, Myles, Keira and Mae, brother in-laws Joseph (Judy) Collins of Jamaica Plain, MA, Dr. James H. (Michelle) Collins of Norwood, MA and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a visitation at 9:30 AM on Monday, July 10, 2023, at St. Bonaventure Church, Plymouth, MA followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. A private burial will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Myles's memory may be made to a charity dear to dad's heart: Fund for the Needy, St. Bonaventure Church, P.O. Box 996, Manomet, MA 02345 or the St. Bonaventure Indian Mission & School, 25 Navarre Blvd W, Thoreau, NM 87323.
