Michael Shields of Plymouth, MA passed away at the age of 60 on July 13th.
Born in Newton, MA to Jack Shields and Elisabeth Fitzgerald. He grew up in Brockton, MA before moving to Levittown, PA at 12 years old. An excellent pianist, he attended the Juilliard Pre-College program. Later, he studied at Temple University. Initially a music major, he switched to electrical engineering on a bet from a college friend that he couldn’t do it. Proving them wrong, he most recently held the title, Chief Electrical Engineer, PE, LEED AP.
Survivors include “his girls” as he used to say: his wife, Pamela, daughters, Samantha and Monica, and granddaughter, Vesper. His sisters Kathy, Lori, Lisa, Edye and Mary. Son-in-law Vivek, brothers-in-law, Jay and Tim. As well as 12 amazing nieces and nephews.
He was hilarious, empathetic, thoughtful, and so much more. He loved being with family, bagels on the beach, going for walks, listening to books or podcasts, eating caramel cheesecake, and talking about politics, ideas, science and religion. He had a thunderous laugh, musical talent, and a keen eye for capturing moments with his camera.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held on October 6, 2022 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at White Cliff's Country Club, 1 East Cliff Drive, Plymouth.
