Obituaries
Maureen E. Donahue (nee Swanton) of Plympton formerly of Quincy, died peacefully with her family at her side on Friday morning, November 11th at B.I.D. Hospital Plymouth. She is the beloved wife of Robert A. Donahue. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 29, 1961, daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Swanton (nee Sullivan). She was the sister to nine and the mother of five. She was educated in Quincy, a graduate of Quincy High School Class of 1980, and earned her associate's degree from Quincy College.
Maureen worked as a Master Tax Advisor, E.A. and Virtual Instructor Development Supervisor for H&R Block. She grew up in Quincy and later moved to the South Shore where she lived with her family in Plymouth and later in Plympton. She was an avid country music fan and enjoyed attending summer concerts with her family. She volunteered with Plymouth South Youth Football and was active with her children’s school events. Maureen enjoyed knitting, family gatherings, and her favorite holiday, Christmas.
Besides her loving husband Robert, she is loved and survived by her children, Michael Donahue and his wife Kim Hartgrave of Missouri, Brian Donahue and his wife Elizabeth Cullen of Boston, Thomas Donahue of Plympton, and Jessica Donahue of Plympton. She was the mother of the late James Donahue.
Maureen is also survived by her brothers: Brian Swanton of Arizona, Christopher Swanton of South Carolina, David Swanton of Weymouth, and John Swanton of Missouri as well as her sisters: Joanne Brown of Quincy, Kathleen Mann of Quincy, Lorraine Gerraughty of New Hampshire, Marjorie Long of Weymouth, and Susan Quigg of Quincy. She cherished being the grandmother of Kenzie Donahue of Missouri and her step-grandchildren Kaleb and Kody Hartgrave of Missouri.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours in the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home 619 State Rd. Plymouth (Manomet) on Tuesday, November 15th from 4-7 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 16th at 10:00 am in St. Bonaventure Church 803 State Rd. Plymouth (Manomet). Burial will follow at Vine Hills Cemetery in Plymouth. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
