Obituaries
Mary Forsythe Ternullo, a longtime resident of Plymouth and Duxbury, died peacefully at home on April 30, 2023 surrounded by her family. She leaves behind her husband of 30 years Robert Ternullo. Loving mother of Christopher Curtin of Scottsdale, AZ, Amy Curtin and her partner Mike McAuliffe of Rockland, Robert Ternullo Jr and his wife Jessica of Franklin, and Kristen O'Neil and her husband Mark of Beverly. Grandmother of Christopher, Brad, Finnian, Keira, Jack and Tucker. She also leaves behind her sister Elizabeth Forsythe Baxter and her husband Hudson of Hyannis, and was preceded in death by her brother Jack Forsythe.
Born in Boston on May 17, 1944, daughter of the late John Reginald and Marion (Comley) Forsythe. Mary grew up on Bass River, Cape Cod. She attended House in the Pines Prep School in Norton and also the Chandler Secretarial School in Boston. Mary worked at Peter Weimeyer Dentistry in Duxbury for many years, and also the Barnside Tavern in Hanover. She loved gardening, being by the ocean, boating, and living in the Pinehills, but, especially her family. Mary and her husband Bob enjoyed many trips and cruises. They went to Europe, Singapore, the Caribbean, and many other trips. She was proud of the fact that she ran the Boston Marathon in 1984 and was a longtime member of the Duxbury Yacht Club. Mary fought leukemia in 2013 and then a long hard battle with esophageal cancer in 2021. She will be missed dearly by her close family and friends.
A visitation will be held at the Cartmell Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 619 State Rd. Plymouth (Manomet), on Thursday, May 11th, from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm. Followed by a lunch reception at the Plymouth Country Club, 221 Warren Ave., Plymouth. In lieu of flowers donation in Mary's memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of New England, 70 Walnut St. Suite 301, Wellesley MA 02481.
