Obituaries
Marjorie Ann “Mitzie” (Miller) Nicol, age 88, of Plymouth passed away peacefully on January 4, 2021 at the Tobey Hospital in Wareham. She was born in Kingston, MA on May 18, 1932, daughter of the late Russell Arthur and Fonda Isabelle (Pease) Miller. She was a graduate of Kingston High School Class of ’50, where she was voted, among others, Class Artist. Mitzie worked for many years as a Hostess of the Mayflower Seafood’s Restaurant in Plymouth and spent her later years at the Miramar Retreat Center in Duxbury apart of the Kitchen Staff. She was an incredibly talented lady and put her creativity to good use working on various crafts: floral arrangements, Christmas decorations, and knitting, to name a few. Mitzie also loved to travel whenever the opportunity arose. She had a kind way about her that touched the hearts of many. She will surely be missed.
Marjorie was the devoted mother of Louis Joseph Izzo and his wife Karen of Plymouth, and was formerly married to Louis J. Izzo of Plymouth. She was the cherished grandmother of Melissa Lee Brickley and her husband Bryan of Plympton and Amanda Marie Izzo and her significant other Stephen Haverty of Brighton. She also leaves behind her loving great-granddaughter Josephine “Josie” Brickley of Plympton.
Visiting hours for family will take place on Monday, January 11th, 2021 at the Davis Life Celebration Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a service in the funeral home at 11:00. Interment will follow at the Plymouth County Cemetery, Plymouth. Donations in her memory may be made to the Miramar Retreat Center, 121 Park Street, Duxbury, MA 02332.
