Margaret Ann (Sullivan) Johnson, 84, of Mashpee, MA and formerly of Scituate, MA, passed away on September 7, 2016. Affectionately known as Peggy, Maggie, Maggy May, Magster, Mom and Nana, she was born December 14, 1931 in Jamaica Plain, MA; grew up in a triple decker on the Arborway and graduated from Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in 1949. She always credited the nuns for her beautiful penmanship and laughed about her ability to perfectly apply lipstick (with no mirror) on her high school steps. She was the third of four siblings born to Joseph and Nellie Sullivan and is pre-deceased by her brothers Joseph G. Sullivan of Weymouth and Gerald Sullivan of Jamaica Plain and her sister Mary A. Regele of Wollaston, MA. Peggy met her future husband Paul B. Johnson of Everett, MA at a party and little did she know when she married him in July, 1953 that she would spend the next 30 years zigzagging across the United States with him, with up to five children in tow. They began married life in Warren--then Youngstown--Ohio. Paul's rise in the wire and cable industry meant subsequent moves to Royal Oak, Michigan; Naperville, Illinois; Corona Del Mar, CA; back to Naperville, Illinois; then on to Scituate, Massachusetts where they stayed for fifteen years and raised their five children. Peggy's gift was turning every new place into a welcoming home for her growing family. There were always children to enroll in a new school, activities to attend, kids to car pool, chocolate chip cookies to bake and a dog to feed. Somehow Peggy managed to do it all and still have time to play bridge and poker with the neighbors. In 1987 Peggy moved to Mashpee, MA. She loved her house on Godfrey Road, not just because it was designed by her son Tim, but because it became a favorite gathering place for her five children, their spouses and her ten grandchildren. Peggy loved being a part of the Cape Cod communityespecially her time with the Falmouth Newcomers' Club. She loved her birds and flowers, a mean game of gin or poker, a Black Russian and roast beef (as long as it was cooked right). Peggy made every holiday special, but her greatest pleasure in life was her family. Peggy is survived by her husband Paul; her son Stephen Johnson of Duxbury, MA; her son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Alice Johnson of Plymouth, MA; her daughter and son-in-law Laura and William Kerrigan of West Hartford, CT; her daughter and son-in-law Kerry and Dwayne Stefano of Plymouth, MA; her daughter Elizabeth Kelley of Rockland, MA and her grandchildren Katie and Kevin Kerrigan, Riley and Taylor Stefano, Cameron and Ryan Kelley, Stephanie and Samantha Johnson, and Lily and Ava Johnson. So Maggie remember, it's not goodbye. It's just "See ya later, alligator."
