Manuel M. Costa Jr. of 95 South Street, Plymouth, son of the late Alice (Oliver) and Manuel Costa, Sr. passed into his heavenly rest at the age of 92 on January 27th at B.I.D. Hospital Plymouth. .
Born on May 7, 1930, Manuel was one of four brothers raised and educated in Freetown, Mass. He served in the US Army (Korean War) where he learned his love for cooking and service. He later worked at the Plymouth Rubber Company for 20 years and retired from the Town of Plymouth after serving 15 years as a night custodian at Plymouth Carver High School.
Mr. Costa was a devoted husband to his late wife and life companion Catherine (Cully) Costa and his beloved dog “Snoopy”.
Manuel’s deceased brothers include Milton, Augustus, and Charlie Costa. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and friends from both Massachusetts and California. He also leaves behind several workers and caregivers at the Plymouth Rehabilitation Nursing Home on South Street who loved and cared for him over the past years.
Funeral Service will take place on Friday February 3rd at 11:00 am at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home 150 Court St. Plymouth (Downtown) followed by burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery Plymouth.
