Manuel J. Britto, Jr. of New Bedford formerly of Plymouth died on January 28, he was the husband of the late Dominga (Fernandez) Britto. Born in New Bedford on March 28, 1929 a son of the late Manuel J. and Angelina (Gracia) Britto, he was educated in the New Bedford schools and he later went on to serve in the US Army and Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Manny was a retired Union Laborer out of Local #721 where he was a member for 50 years. He is survived by his daughters Rafaela Oliveira and Francine Andrews and his sons John Andrews, Frank Britto and Steven Britto and his wife Maureen Britto all of Plymouth. He was the father of the late George Andrews, Peter Andrews, Mary Ann Dias and Joseph Paul Britto. Brother of Anna Hawkins of New Bedford. Longtime companion of Patricia Victor of New Bedford. Brother in law of Lee Charlton and of Alma Andrews. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was pre deceased by 8 brothers and sisters. Funeral from the Cartmell Funeral Home 150 Court St. Plymouth on Friday February 5th at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Peter's Church Plymouth at 10:00 am. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4:00 7:00 pm.. Burial in the MA National Cemetery in Bourne.
