Obituaries
Lois M. Berthold was peacefully called away to Jesus at Newfield House on September 3, 2022 with her daughter by her side. Lois was the beloved wife of 47 years to the late Carl A. Berthold She was the daughter of the late Francis J. Hasenbine and Mildred E. (Hasenbine) Chadsey.
Lois so ever bravely fought her many struggles with Alzheimer’s, Leukemia and Macular Degeneration. Her last five and a half years were spent residing at Newfield House. Their attentive, loving, compassionate and professional care were all above reproach. Lois was filled with both joy and peace with the bountiful activities which both enriched each day and brought her serene comfort. The entire staff affectionally complimented how sweet she was; funny given her great quality of care; that was easy for her to shine through.
Lois was employed as bookkeeper at Berthold Lumber Company for 30 years and Proprietor of Maple Lane Farm and Farm stand for 25 years.
She was a member of The American Kennel Club raising and showing Championship Collies. She was a proud member of the United Methodist Women serving two terms as President. She was a devoted member of The Saugus Center United Methodist Church of which she served on Administrative Board for 10 years and Chairperson of the yearly fair for 6 years.Lois loved to travel to the Caribbean Islands and Hawaii also exploring America in their RV.
Some other passions she enjoyed included painting, playing music, dancing, flower and vegetable gardening, photography and her beloved pets.

Services will be held at the Cartmell Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court Street, Plymouth MA On September 16, 2022 A period of visitation will take place from 10AM to 11AM a funeral service will then follow the visitation at the funeral home being conducted by Rev. Terry Martinson.
Interment and graveside service will be held at Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth MA
