Lewin G. Nelson
June 23, 1925 - January 31, 2015
Lewin George Nelson, of Plymouth, formerly of Marshfield and Westwood, passed away Saturday after a brief illness at the age of 89. "Buddy", as he was known by all who loved him, was a loving husband, caring father and grandfather and valued friend. He was born in Boston and attended schools there. At 17 he enlisted in the Navy and was a Seaman First Class stationed in the Pacific. Returning from the war, he attended Suffolk University Law School and passed the boards. He worked as an insurance adjuster for several companies before becoming Head Council for the Factory Mutual Company. Buddy was an avid reader and card player and had a passion for collecting stamps. Other avocations included entertaining as lead singer in the "Blue Hills Four" comedy barbershop quartet and doing charitable work.He loved a good joke and a laugh. He was an example to all who knew him of his love and devotion to his wife of 60 years, Christine O'Brien Nelson. A devoted father to his late son, Brien Nelson, and a supportive and loving grandfather to Spencer Nelson of Washington, DC.Buddy will also be sadly missed by his sisters Evelyn LePage of Arizona, Eleanor McCormac of FL, his daughter in law, Michele Meister of Plymouth and the multitude of people who called him "family". A celebration of his Life will take place on Saturday, February 21 at 1pm at the Stonebridge Club, 55 Stonebridge Way, the Pinehills, Plymouth, MA
