June C. Tompkins passed away on Friday, August 26th, at her home in Taunton. Born June 21, 1943, in Plymouth, to the late Paul and Marion (Wall) Landry. June is the sister to the late Paul David Landry and Joyce Tompkins. June grew up in the Plymouth/Kingston area. Graduate of Silver Lake High School, class of 1961.
Shortly after graduating, June began her adventure of becoming mother to 5 sons. While raising her boys, June worked at South Shore Packing in Brockton. After their closure, she spent 17 years with W.B. Mason Company in Brockton.
June met her husband, Joseph Tompkins, in 1980. They wed on June 13, 1992 at the First Church in W. Bridgewater. In April of 1993, they moved to Taunton, where they currently reside.
Throughout her life June always had a love for animals. She had numerous cats and dogs. Most recently her baby, Chica. June also loved her wild animals, and enjoyed feeding her critters in her backyard.
June is survived by her husband, Joseph Tompkins, sons William Hamblin of Wareham, David Hamblin and his wife Cheryl of Forestdale, Peter Hamblin and his fiancé Kaitlin Thompson of Middleboro, Todd Hamblin and his wife Jane of Kingston, stepdaughter Annette Tompkins of Taunton, 8 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, and 6 great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her son Kevin Hamblin of Buzzards Bay.
Visiting hours in the Cartmell – Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home 150 Court St. Plymouth (Downtown) on Wedneday August 31st from 5-8 pm. Funeral Service on Thursday September 1st at 10:00 am in the Funeral Home. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Kingston.
