Obituaries
Julia Margaret Nicholson (Fitzgerald), age 90, born February 14, 1931, in the town of Cambridge, Massachusetts passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, December 30, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph W. Nicholson.
Julia is survived by her daughters Linda Collins and Ann Conard. Her sons, Stephen G. Nicholson and Stephen M. Nicholson. She was predeceased by her son Edward Nicholson. She is a grandmother to sixteen grandchildren, two that she raised, her granddaughters, Lisa Meadows (Nicholson) and Kristine Marvel (Nicholson). She was also a great-grandmother to nineteen and great-great-grandmother to three.
The daughter of John Fitzgerald and Hazel (Ogden). The Matriarch eldest of Ten, she leaves behind three of her brothers, Charlie Fitzgerald, Victor Fitzgerald, and Brian Fitzgerald. She was predeceased by four of her sisters and two of her brothers. She also leaves behind hundreds of nieces and nephews.
She dedicated her entire life to her children and grandchildren. She was a free-spirited woman, full of energy, giggly and lots of spunk. Until the day of her passing she continued to be independent, living on her own. Always full of energy and ‘sharp as a nails’ with a social life that age did not slow down. She will be missed and remembered dearly. We are blessed for the legacy she leaves and the countless stories for generations to come.
To her husband she was always Julie. To family she was lovingly called “Nana, Ma, Mom, Mamma, Juju and Judy ". To her friends she was Julie. Her family finds comfort that she is now peacefully reunited with her husband Joseph, son Edward.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 10:00AM at Vine Hills Cemetery in Plymouth.
