Obituaries
Josephine M. (Merlino) Corcoran of Duxbury, passed away on August 16, 2022 at the age of eighty-eight. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Corcoran and she was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur DiNinno. She was the loving mother of Arthur DiNinno and his wife Julia Beckett of Maine, Paul DiNinno of New Hampshire, Carol DiNinno and her partner Mark Schellenberg of Rhode Island and the late Susan DiNinno; step-mother of Matthew Corcoran of Connecticut and the late Daniel Corcoran, III. She leaves behind her greatest joys, her grandchildren, Elise Burns, Amy, Danny, Allie and James Corcoran, Ethan, and Tim and Peter DiNinno, as well as four great grandchildren. She was the sister of Marie DiMarzio of Norwood and the late Joseph Merlino and Pauline Sullivan.
Josephine was born on November 23, 1933 in Boston to the late Nicholas and Josephine (Travia) Merlino. She resided in Foxborough, Sagamore Beach and, most recently, Duxbury for the past fourteen years. After raising her children, Josephine worked for Sentry Bank in Hyannis for ten years. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Church in Duxbury. In her spare time, she enjoyed visiting with family and friends, working on puzzles, reading and knitting, often donating mittens to children in need as well as outfitting every family member and friend she could.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, 11:00 am at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury. A private burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband, Daniel.
