Joseph Patrick Heaney of Plymouth/Manomet passed peacefully on January 19, 2023.
Joe was the loving husband of the late Helen “Honey” Heaney for sixty-six years. He was the loving father of Elizabeth Silva and her husband Marc of Sagamore Beach, Joseph Heaney, Jr. of Manomet, Kevin Heaney of Dedham, the late Timothy Heaney who is survived by his wife Lolly of Manomet, the late Helen Saro, and the late Robert and Richard Heaney. Loving “Papa” of Brian, James, Jason, Miranda, Hannah, Emily, Kevin, and Melissa. Great-grandfather of Lucy and Josephine.
Joe was devoted to his family. He enjoyed the Boston sports scene, especially the Patriots. He spent his career as a pipe fitter working all hours of the day and night for the MBTA for over 25 years. He made many friends during his lifetime with his eloquent conversations. He will be dearly missed.
A period of visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Bonaventure Church, 803 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet). Interment will immediately follow the mass at Manomet Cemetery, 19 White Horse Road, Plymouth (Manomet). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Moving Forward, 45 White Cap Lane, West Barnstable, MA 02668 or www.movingforwardinc.org. This organization supports Helen and Joe’s longstanding gifting to organizations that support children and adults on the autism spectrum.
