Jon C. Morris born and raised in Plymouth, completed his journey home to his Lord & Savior on January 19th, 2023. Born on January 30, 1954, son of the late Clifford and Dorothy (Scanland) Morris. He was educated and a graduate of Plymouth – Carver High School. He served his country in the US Army as an Air Traffic Controller. Growing up, he and his dad and brother would go hunting. He enjoyed hiking, and photography in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. As an avid history buff, he enjoyed the tours of the Fore Fathers Monument and sharing the history of Plymouth while walking through Brewster Gardens to Plymouth’s Waterfront. He enjoyed being outdoors looking for artifacts and learning the history of our country. He was a member of the Pilgrim’s Progress where he participated for several years with his wife and daughter walking the Thanksgiving Day morning reenactment of the Pilgrim’s Procession to church. Jon was a Patriots fan and had an opportunity to manage Guardian Self Storage in Foxboro where he enjoyed meeting quite a few Patriots players. He retired after working many years at General Dynamics in Security Management. He and his family were very active members of the New Hope Chapel in Plymouth.
Jon is survived by his loving wife Kimberly A. Morris formerly of Plympton. He is the father of Jay Morris and his wife Elena of Plymouth, Stacy L. Morris of Bourne, David Morris of D'Iberville, MS., and Moriah E. Morris formerly of Plympton. He is the brother of the late Roy Morris and his wife Pamela J. formerly of Plympton, of the late Dianne Taormina and her husband Charlie of Plymouth, and Lori Ann Mahoney, and her husband Kevin of Cotuit. Grandfather to Hailey A. Morris, Alessandria Jennings, and Cole Buckley Morris. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service on Saturday, February 18th at 10:00 am at Union Cemetery in Carver.
