Obituaries
John B. MacKenzie of Plymouth died peacefully on June 25th at Bay Path in Duxbury. He was the beloved husband of Patricia C. (Wall) MacKenzie. Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on December 12, 1949, son of the late John G. and Jeanette (Brown) MacKenzie. He was educated in Plymouth and a graduate of Plymouth – Carver High School. He attended Massasoit College and a graduate of Stonehill College with his Business Degree. He went on to serve his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He served as a town meeting member in Plymouth and was active leader with the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and youth group leader in Plymouth. John served as a Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Plymouth. He participated in the Walk for Hunger and received the Presidents Call to Service Award in 2012.For most of his life he worked in customer service in food service industry.
Besides his wife Patricia he is survived by his sons John W. of Middleboro, Andrew N. of Plymouth, Mark P. MacKenzie of Middleboro and a daughter Elizabeth M. MacKenzie and her husband Stephen Flynn of Wareham. He was the cherished grandfather of Walter M. Flynn.
Visiting hours in the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home 373 Court St. North Plymouth (Near Cordage Park) on Thursday June 29th from 4-7. Private graveside services will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. The family would like to thank Bay Path and their staff for their care of John.
