John Huber, age 86 years, of Kingston, died Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the Beth Israel – Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. He was the husband of Karel (Kinney) Huber, and the son of the late John A. and Annie G. (Murray) Huber. Born in Boston on February 28, 1936, John worked in sales with the Subaru of America Company. He was a former member of the National Guard. John was a people person. He loved talking to folks and seemed to run into someone he knew everywhere he went. He loved his children and grandchildren and loved caring for and babysitting them. He had a keen sense of humor and was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying his Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. In his retirement he played softball for a senior league on Cape Cod. John was a faithful parishioner of Christ Church in Plymouth where he was a volunteer at the thrift shop. He was generous with his time as he was formerly a volunteer at Falmouth Hospital when he and his wife Karel lived on Cape Cod. Always someone who enjoyed reading, he was able to enjoy more of that in his retirement. He especially loved to read historical fiction.
Besides his wife Karel of over sixty years, John will be missed by his loving children, Richard Huber and his wife Emily of Taunton, and Kimberly Cervantes of Kingston, his grandchildren Steven and Katelyn Cervantes and Seth Huber. He also leaves his brother Robert Huber of Falmouth and he was the brother-in-law of Bruce and Priscilla Kinney, Susan Kinney and her late husband Donald Kinney.
Services for John will be held at Christ Church in Plymouth at a later date.
