" John A. Cameron, 80, of Plymouth, formerly of Weymouth, our beloved father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully at home on January 16th from natural causes. ?Jack? is survived by the mother of his children and former wife, Dolores Cameron Murphy and was predeceased by his wife Marion Ricardi Cameron. Jack is also survived by his five children and their families: Michael Cameron and his wife Pamela of Kensington, NH; Gayle Cameron and her partner Judy Shaw of Quincy, Steve Cameron and his wife Karen of Hingham, Lori Cameron Messina and her husband Robert of Laguna Niguel, CA; and Jack Cameron and his wife Erin of Sandwich. Jack shared with all of his children on numerous occasions ?just how lucky he was throughout his life?. ?Papa? was also cherished and will be fondly remembered by his 10 grandchildren: Danielle, Steve, Andrew, Kate, Mattingly, Conor, Michael, Kelly, Robbie and Colleen. Jack was a former Marine and veteran of the Korean War, before his apprenticeship at the Typographical Union. Jack then spent his whole career (after a short stint at the old Record American newspaper) proudly working in the mail room division of the Boston Globe. His tenure at the Boston Globe spanned a time period of more than 43 years where he was a devoted advocate for union workers and veterans both within the community of Boston as well as around the country. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St (Rt 3A), N. Plymouth on Monday January 20th from 2 to 4 PM with words of remembrance at 3:30. Followed by a celebration of Jack?s life at 4:30 at the East Bay Grille at 173 Water Street Plymouth Ma.. A private burial will be held at the National Cemetery in Bourne in a later date.
