John F. Adams

ADAMS, John Francis Age 77, passed away surrounded by family on Aug. 30, 2022. John was the devoted husband of the late Gina M. (Centrella) Adams of Plymouth. Born in Boston, on February 27, 1945, John was son of the late Leo and Mary (McCormack) Adams. A graduate of Suffolk University, he worked for many years at John Hancock Insurance in Boston. Later he worked at Boston Mutual Life Insurance, Guardian Life Insurance, and most recently as a crossing guard for the Plymouth Schools. John was an active member of the Cold Spring Athletic Club, St. Mary's and St. Peter's parishes in Plymouth and enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and walking the beach in Plymouth. John was the loving father of Meghan E. Lewis and her husband Mark of Kingston, Paul T. Adams and his wife Andrea, Christopher J. Adams, and Joshua L. Adams, all of Plymouth. He was the beloved brother of Roberta (Adams) Anglin, and the late Lillian Riley, Marie Wrick, Edna Abbott, Marilyn Rubnich, Daniel "Sonny" Higgins, Ronald Adams, Richard Adams, and Robert "Rabbit" Adams. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Elizabeth Higgins of Milton and Anne Flaherty-Adams of South Boston, and his grandchildren, Patrick, William, Kathleen, Charlie, Andrew, Zoey, Madelyn, Bailey, and Hollie. Additionally, he will be remembered by many beloved nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held in the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 150 Court St., PLYMOUTH, on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022 from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m, with a service in the funeral home at 12:00 pm. We will all warmly recall John's laugh, so in his memory please raise a toast in John's name with family and friends.
