Joan (Joanie) C. (Reese) Keating of Plymouth passed away peacefully at Wingate at Silver Lake on December 25, 2020 at the age of Seventy-three after a 15 year fight against Alzheimer’s disease. She was the beloved wife of John “Jack” Keating. She was the loving mother of Joseph (Joe) W. Keating and his wife Laurie A (Collyer). She was the cherished grandmother of Tyler, Colby and Kyle Keating. She was the sister of Marie Calabraro and her husband, John and Patricia “Patty” Donnelly and her husband, Michael (Mike). She also was the sister-in-law of Mary (Keating) Kennan and her spouse Joy Mazzei and Jerry Keating and his wife, Julie. Joanie, also, has numerous nephews, nieces and godchildren.
Joanie was born on August 20, 1947 in Jamaica Plain. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Jamaica Plain. She loved sewing, knitting, crafts but most of all going to Tyler’s concerts and the boys sporting events.
A period of visitation will be held on December 30, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet). The Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Bonaventure’s Church, Plymouth, at 10:00 AM on December 31, 2020. The burial will be held at Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth. The family requests that guests wear the color purple to the services in honor of Alzheimer’s awareness and Joanie herself, if possible. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanie’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or alz.org.
