Dr. Jerold J. Lamhut of Plymouth, MA, passed away on Sunday, February 19th, 2023 at the age of 73.
Jerry was born on May 30, 1949 to Sam Lamhut and Ida Lamhut (Rubin) in Brooklyn, NY. After Jerry graduated high school, he went on to study medicine at the University of Buffalo. Later, he attended Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel in Belgium, where he obtained his doctorate degree and many, many friends from around the world.
Dr. Jerry was one of a kind! He lived life to the fullest and always enjoyed the experience and the people, above anything else. He was the most stubborn man you could ever meet, "Well, I ain't always right but I've never been wrong" as the lyrics from his favorite song, Scarlett Begonias by The Grateful Dead would describe him. He was loved by more people than he could ever imagine. Wherever Jerry went, he impacted the lives of others and left a lasting impression.
After retiring from the medical field, Jerry became a part of the Garden Club at Plymouth Plantation. His passion for gardening was known by many and evident by his beautiful backyard filled with fruit trees and blossoming flowers. He loved attending Plymouth Plantation and joining his friends to enhance the beauty of the place. He was also an avid cook, and could whip up a magical meal with whatever was available.
Jerry is survived by his spouse Karen Lamhut (Russell), his daughter Shaina, her husband Derrick Goodwin and his soon to be grandson Killian Jerold Goodwin of Peabody, MA, and his son, Justin Lamhut of Woburn, MA. He is also survived by his beloved older sister Jane and her husband Larry Rosendorf, and his nephew Eric Rosendorf "The Boy" who he loved dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 3, 2023 in Plymouth, Ma. More details will be made available by his daughter in the near future.
