Jeanne M. Weldon, age 67 years, of Plymouth, formerly of Brookline and Boston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2022, blessed in being surrounded by her husband and son after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Jeanne was the wife of John T. “Jack” Weldon, Jr., mother of JP Weldon of Charlestown, and the daughter of the late Elmer and Bernadette (Flynn) Lenk. She was born on October 30, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from Boston University in 1976, earning her Bachelor’s degree in education.
Jeanne was an accomplished professional of more than thirty years in the hospitality industry, most recently as the owner of Weldon Event and Destination Management. Prior to founding her own company, Jeanne held various other hotel management and corporate event planning roles. She produced numerous meetings and events for Fortune 500 companies, and has guest lectured on the topic of meeting and destination management at local universities. She also maintained a commitment to volunteer projects and pro bono event planning work. Despite having a successful career, Jeanne always felt her most important role was raising her son JP.
Jeanne was bright, creative, artistic, ever-generous, kindhearted and compassionate towards everyone. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, trying new restaurants and being near the ocean, and especially treasured taking walks on the beach with her husband. Jeanne read avidly, and doted over her dog Roscoe. Although she loved spending time with everyone she met, especially her family and friends, her greatest passion was being a devoted and loving mother and wife. Jeanne was loved by all.
In addition to her loving husband Jack and son JP, she will be missed by her brother Robert Lenk and his wife Kyoung of Hong Kong, her sister Barbara Lenk of Vermont, her sister-in-law of Margaret Maistros and her husband Thomas, Maureen Helfrich and her husband Paul, Lawrence Weldon and his wife Elizabeth, Patty Oakley, and Christina Trombly and her husband Craig.
