Obituaries
Janice King, age 71 years, of Plymouth, died peacefully Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Beth Israel – Deaconess Hospital in Boston. She was the daughter of the late David and Mary (Keel) King. Born in Plymouth on June 27, 1951, she was raised in Halifax and lived the last thirty-five years in Plymouth. Jan was a graduate of Silverlake High School in Kingston, class of 1969, and attended the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth and Katherine Gibbs College in Boston. She worked for the Trenton Shoe Company in Brockton, Massasoit Community College in the admissions office, her parents Kings Supermarket and Barnstable County Court House, before retiring from the Plymouth County Registry of Deeds. In 1986 she traveled with her parents for a year after their market sold to Florida, California, and Virginia before eventually settling with her life partner Jim. She and Jim enjoyed traveling to St. John, US Virgin Island and a cruise to Alaska.
She is survived by her life partner Jim Cossaboom, her brother Gary King of Suffolk, VA, a sister Laura King of Dunham, NC, along with nephews Joshua Cross, Austin Cross. Gary King, nieces Shawna Westmeyer, and Alexa King of Virginia Beach, VA. She also leaves six grandnephews and grand nieces and Jim's extended family, Mindy, Brian, Scott, Cara, Jake, Noah, Catherine, Brady, and her beloved dog, Nick.
Jan loved traveling to the south to spend holidays and vacations with family. Her easy laugh, positive words, and love touches their hearts. Her joy for life in sharing with family and friends will be greatly missed.
