The world is a bit darker today. James (“Jimbo”) Griffin passed away suddenly on Jan 15th, 2023 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, MA.
If you were lucky enough to know him, you know how special he was. He was loud and funny, but also capable of such incredible kindness, with amazing energy and a profound love of life. He was protective of those he cared about, and anyone else who needed it. He would help anyone with anything, even if they didn’t always deserve his help. He could fix anything and spent most of his life working as an L1 master technician fixing cars, but for the past few years worked at Gorilla Hammers doing sales and service.
Jimbo was a proud dad of three girls of his own, and two step sons that he thought of as his own, but he was always willing to be a dad to any kid that may have needed it at the moment. He was the funniest person you would ever meet, and the life of any party. He was able to talk to anyone and become instant friends.
He loved kayaking, campfires, fishing, camping, and was known for his amazing camping breakfasts. He recently started woodworking and had such a talent for it building furniture, birdhouses, and other fabulous creations, often just out of scrap wood or pallets. He loved spending time working on his house and his yard and taking care of his two rescue dogs, Princess and Lily.
This world is cruel and uncertain and is now a darker, scarier place without Jimbo in it. So check in on those you care about, and give your people a big hug. because no one is promised a tomorrow.
Jimbo leaves behind three daughters, Alexis, Gianna, and Brielle Griffin of Weymouth, two stepsons Zachary Dawson of Carver, MA and Byron Shoemaker proudly serving in the US Navy, his wife Dianna, brother and sister-in-law Dana and Sethany Griffin of Bridgewater, MA and his nephews Karl and DJ Griffin. He also leaves behind too many friends to count, and a big, empty space only he could fill. There are no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Buddy and Friends Animal Rescue based out of Pembroke, MA.
