Irene C. Kelly Hardy of Plymouth, died Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at the Beth Israel- Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. She was the daughter of the late Peter H. and Anna (Stahovish) Kelly. Irene was born and raised in Springfield, MA. After graduating from Cathedral High School she went on to graduate from nursing school. Irene worked for 40 years at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. She was a devoted communicant of St. Peter’s Church, an active member of her nursing union and a member of the Center of Active Living with the Plymouth Council of Aging, as well as other community organizations. Irene loved the beach, traveling, dogs, reading a good book, a dunks coffee and the Sunday Globe. She especially loved spending time with her 5 grandchildren, along with enjoying a good laugh with her many friends.
Irene is survived and will be deeply missed by her children, Michael Rankin of Michigan, and Marybeth Hardy Heins, and her husband Eric of Austin, TX. She was predeceased by her sisters Alice Kelly Sullivan and Elinor Kelly Bastien. Irene was the beloved Mimi of Cassandra, Madison, Adam, Sean and Meghan. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews Daniel Sullivan, Janet Carpenteri, James Bastien, Ron Bastien, Anne Porter and the late Michael Bastien and Robert Sullivan.
A Funeral Mass for Irene will be held on Thursday, April 15th at 10:30am at St. Peter’s Church in Plymouth, MA. Online condolences may be made at www.cartmelldavis.com
