Obituaries
Helen Catherine Anzuoni, age 50, of Plymouth and formerly of Lake Tahoe, CA, died on August 18 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of George S. and Barbara (Purcell) Anzuoni of Plymouth. She was born in Plymouth, MA on May 26, 1961. Helen was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Kingston and the National Outdoors Leadership School in Wyoming and received her B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont. She also had a Masters Degree in Landscape Design from Conway School of Landscape Design. Early in her career, Helen worked as Town Planner in Rochester, N.H., and for the City of Boston Parks Department as a landscape designer. She also worked for Pat Loheed Design in Watertown. In 1991, she moved to Osterville and became Cape Cod District Manager for Plymouth and Brockton Street Railway Company in Hyannis. During her years there, she was very active in the business community including serving as Chair of the Hyannis Main street waterfront Association. She was also a member of the Hyannis Rotary. Her accomplishments both professional and personal were many. She was an expert skier and in 2002 she fulfilled a dream to move to Lake Tahoe California to work as a ski patroller. She loved the majesty of the mountains as much as she loved the beauty of the beaches. While in Tahoe, she became a licensed Landscape Architect in Massachusetts, California and Nevada and opened her own business. IN 2010, Helen moved back to Plymouth to her parent's home where she continued to live life to the very fullest until recently. Helen had a close circle of treasured friends from Plymouth to Vermont to Cape Cod to Tahoe. Her amazing zest for life was described best by her father who said, "She always put 48 hours into 24." On her 49th birthday, shortly after her diagnosis of brain cancer, Helen wrote to her friends, "I'm lucky. I lived my dream." Helen is survived by her parents, George and Barbara (Purcell) Anzuoni and her beloved boyfriend Corey Hofheinz of Tahoe. She was the loving sister of George Stephen Anzuoni and his wife Tina of Winthrop, Carol Anzuoni-Nelson and her husband Dennis of Hanover, and Christopher Anzuoni and his wife Nancy of Plymouth. She was the cherished aunt of Nicole, Alex, Brandon and Shannon Anzuoni.
