Hannelore Lisbeth Kloyer Roberts was born on November 17, 1936 in Nurnberg, Germany. She was one of fourteen children and was forced to quit school at age fourteen to work in a meat factory to help bring food in for her family.
She loved to dance and would go out with her older sister; this is how she met her future husband who was stationed there in the military. They dated and eventually she married, Donald Roberts. He was expected to be transferred back to the United States. Hannelore had to apply for Certification of Naturalization and passed all requirements after studying and being tested on the first try on March 14, 1963. She came to America and resided at Fort Meade, Maryland. In 1976 she moved to Plymouth, MA and resided there until her passing on October 13, 2022.
She worked in Plymouth as a presser at Reliable Cleaners, where she pressed wedding gowns and men’s suits. She resigned after two years and began working for the rest of her career at the Radison Hotel as a housekeeper.
She is survived by three grandchildren who reside in Oregon.
