Garreth D. Foster, 31, of Plymouth passed away at his home on May 29th, 2023. He was born on January 2nd, 1992 to Ann DeNike and David Foster in Berlin, Vermont.
Garreth was a true outdoorsman, and often recalled his early childhood with great affection. His early childhood in the mountains of Vermont solidified his passions for outdoor sports and being in nature. His family later relocated to Cape Cod, eventually settling in Sandwich, MA where Garreth graduated from high school in 2010.
Upon graduating high school, and inspired by his passion for diesel engines, Garreth attended WyoTech auto mechanic institute in Blairsville, Pennsylvania. His active mind and desire to learn and understand the intricacies of how things worked crossed over to all areas of his life. Garreth went on to attend Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMASS, Amherst where he completed his degree in Landscape Contracting. He was a proud member of the Alpha Tau Gamma fraternity.
Garreth worked alongside his father and grew into an accomplished landscape contractor. He was well versed in all aspects of the trade having skills in masonry, landscape architecture, horticulture, client relations, planning and masterfully worked any machine he could get his hands on. He was a hard worker to his core and a dedicated Landscape Manager for a large residential community. When he wasn't working he enjoyed learning about history, painting Warhammer 40K models, cooking, fishing with his friends, and rocking out to heavy metal music.
Garreth meant a great deal to so many people. He was our rock, the funniest guy in the room, he had a smile that could make you forget everything, and a bellowing laugh so loud you couldn't help but join in. He was a son, brother, a best man, nephew, cousin, friend, and so many other things that made up his beautiful soul. He loved the deepest, and cared the most. His kindness and generous spirit was special and will be greatly missed.
Garreth is survived by his mother Ann DeNike of Plymouth, father David Foster, and David's wife, Laura, of Plymouth, MA, brother Evan Foster originally of Sandwich, MA and Evan's fiance Jackie, his Grandmother Rosalie DeNike of Vermont, and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his longtime partner, Lorraine Jones.
A wake will be held Tuesday, June 6th from 4-7 P.M at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home 373 Court St, North Plymouth, MA 02360.
