Obituaries
Eric J. Vincent, age 42, of Carver, formerly of Plymouth, passed away on Monday, July 25th, at his home in Carver. He was the loving husband of Daniel Gilcoine. Son of Susan (Dyson) Vincent and the late Joseph Vincent. Brother of Tiara Vincent of Plymouth, and Uncle to Rosabella Sisson. He is also survived by his uncles Bob Dyson and his wife Audree of Walpole, Paul Dyson and his wife Susan of Stoughton, and his aunt Adella Erskine of Carver. His cousins Alex, Meredith, Paul Jr., Jessica, Jimmy Joe, Jeremy, Jason, Joshua, Shawn, Chris, Delphina, Nikki, and Tanesha. As well as his best friend Darren Gothage, and his dogs Ruba and Bentley. Plus countless other close friends.
Eric was born in Plymouth on February 7, 1980. He was a graduate of Plymouth South High School, class of 1998, and attended Northeastern University. He made his career with Blue Cross Blue Shield for over 20 years. Prior to that, he held multiple positions at Camp Clark where he spent much of his youth, followed by years working for Old Colony YMCA before and after school programs, and finally ended up putting in many hours of volunteer work helping to grow and update the Camp for future generations. He was very interested in architecture, studied C.A.D., and always stayed up to date with new technology and gadgets. He loved cars, especially his new Audi A6, which was his dream car, plus his father’s 1987 Lincoln Town Car, which he deeply cherished. Eric and Dan enjoyed going to the theater, concerts, and traveling together. They loved vacationing in Ft. Myers, FL to spend time with family. At home Eric liked taking care of the yard and gardens, and also building custom cabinetry for him and Dan’s home. Eric was taken too soon and will be missed by many.
A visitation will be held at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court St. (North) Plymouth, on Wednesday, August 3rd, from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm. A service will follow in the funeral home at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Eric’s memory may be made to the MSPCA 350 S Huntington Ave. Jamaica Plain MA 02130.
