Barrett, of Plymouth, Elsie Phyllis (Tavares) , age 87, died June 23, 2005 at the Jordan Hospital. She was the loving mother of Eileen J. Cassady of Middleboro and Maureen Reposa of Plymouth. She was beloved sister of the late Edward and David Tavares and cherished grandmother of Russell Reposa, Diana DiGiorgi, and James Cassady. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren. The PRIVATE funeral service will take place on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Plymouth. She was educated in the Plymouth school system and then went to work as a rivetor for the Quincy Shipyard. She later was employed as a seamstress for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Local # 242 in Brockton which she did for most of her life. She was also a foster grandmother at Bright Beginnings Day Care and Mayflower Nursing Home Child Care Unit. She spent numerous hours doing volunteer work whenever needed.
