Elizabeth “Beth” M. Young, age 59, of Marshfield, passed away due to complications from cancer, on Friday, September 9th, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.She was the devoted wife of Frederick J. Young, Sr. Loving mother of Rachael L. Young, and the late infant son Frederick J. Young, Jr.
Born in Quincy on June 30, 1963, daughter of the late Louis, Sr. and Joan (Grenier) Goldrick. Sister of Maryann Uvanitte, Steven Goldrick and his wife Vina, Fran Goldrick and his wife Kathy, Mike Goldrick, Joan Gutowski and her late husband Edward, Dan Goldrick, Meg Kudla and her husband Rob, Faith Byrne and her husband Mike, and the late Louis J. Goldrick, Jr. and his late wife, Mary Bailey Flanagan, and Kathy (Goldrick) Moody. Sister in-law to Rod Moody, also to Jennifer Young, Mark Young, Sharon Hudgens, Sandra Scott, Jed Young, and Edith (Wayne) Baiz. She was also a devoted Aunt and is survived by numerous nieces, nephews. She was honored to be called Godmother, to her niece, Grace Kudla, and nephews Scott Goldrick and the late Spc Steven Gutowski, and was always there for them.
She was a graduate of Quincy High School, class of 1981, and attended culinary school at Quincy College. Beth went on to marry her husband Fred in April of 1994. She had an honorable career, serving others in need as the Night Shift Supervisor for Father Bill’s Mainspring-shelter for the homeless for over 20+ years. She had many friends most especially her dearest friend, Maureen Dixon and family, and her childhood friends she cherished so deeply - enjoying their annual trips to Cape Cod. Being one of 11 children, Beth loved her time spent with her family. She always made sure the Goldrick Family Christmas, Family Reunion and Sister Day, were never missed – keeping family ties close within her large family - and would make it a point to bring her delicious meatballs and brownies, that she was famous for. Beth was always there when anyone needed something, and you could count on her always with her giving heart, and beautiful personality. She will be terribly missed by the numerous lives she touched with her generous spirit.
A visitation will be held at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 150 Court St (Downtown) Plymouth, on Sunday, September 18th, from 4:00 pm till 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will take place the following day at St. Peters Church, Plymouth, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, in Bourne, at 1:30 pm.
