Elizabeth (Betty) L. Marshman, residing at the Wingate at Silver Lake Nursing Home in Kingston, MA, formerly of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2022. She was 99 years old. Born in Chelsea, MA. At the age of three she moved to Weymouth with her family.
Beloved wife of the late T/Sgt William O. Marshman who died in WWII. Also, beloved wife of the late Henry E. Marshman (brother of William O. Marshman) for 62 years. Loving Mother to and survived by Gail A. Elliott and her husband David of Bridgewater (formerly of Plymouth), Elizabeth (Libby) Corn and her husband Keith of S.C. and the late William O. Marshman, Jr. and his surviving wife Barbara of TN. Grandmother to Carrie A. Mathias and her husband John of Kingston, Bonnie Massa and her husband Ron of Kingston, Gregory Brunelle and his wife Karen of Holstein, IA, Jenny Davila and Karen Thomas of MA. Also survived by seven Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Dolan and Charlotte (Bevin) Dolan. She is survived by her brother Joseph Dolanski of Australia. Sister to the late Rose Laitinen, Dorothy Bowley, Helen Burrell, Agnes Carson, Virginia Edwards and the late Stanley Dolan.
She enjoyed her family, square and ballroom dancing, bowling, bingo, jigsaw puzzles and playing the piano. She was an avid reader, Scrabble and card player. In the 1950/60's she ran the Peter Pan Nursery School out of her home in Weymouth. She worked part-time for the Whittemore-Durgin Glass Company well into her 70's. Betty was a Salvationist within the Salvation Army.
Visiting hours will be held from 4pm - 6pm on Thursday, September 8th at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court Street, North Plymouth, MA. Funeral Service will be at the Cartmell -,Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court Street, North Plymouth, MA. on Friday, September 9th at 9am. Burial to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
