Edward “Ed” F. Weatherby of Plymouth passed away at home on January 21, 2023, after a long courageous battle with a brain injury. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl Foley. He is survived by his mother-in-law, Louise Foley, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ed was born in Holbrook on June 12, 1947, to the late Raymond and Eleanor (DeCoste) Weatherby. He was a Supervisor for Arbella Insurance for over forty years. He loved boating with friends to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket and just spending time on the ocean. He enjoyed dive trips to the Caribbean and meeting his “buddies” at the gym. After retirement, he took up the sport of golfing. Ed was a special kind of person. He was kind, caring, funny, and had lots of energy. To know him was to love him. When you were a friend of Ed’s you became family. He treasured and appreciated his friendships and the love and kindness they shared with him. He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him.
A period of visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court Street, Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
