Donald James Robillard of Plymouth passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth on January 26, 2023, at the age of eighty. He was the beloved husband of Asta (Korhonen) Robillard; the loving father of Mark Robillard and his wife Tina; Michael Robillard and his wife Jodie; the adoring “Papa” of Samantha, Mathieu, Mikaela, and Abigail. He was the brother of Larry Robillard and his wife Vivian, and Mary Charlotte Kenney. He leaves his nieces, Sharon, and Kathleen, and nephews Scott and Christopher.
Donald was born in Cambridge on August 22, 1942, to the late Clarence and Mary (MacDonald) Robillard. He graduated from North Cambridge Catholic High School in 1960 and Northeastern University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He worked as a Controller for Chex Finer Foods for twenty years. After his retirement, he worked part-time at the Hampton Inn in Plymouth. Donald was a Sergeant in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany where he met his wife, Asta. He was an avid New England Sports fan. He enjoyed reading and his time spent traveling to Finland and other parts of Europe with Asta. Donald loved his family and being a “Papa” was his greatest joy.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Church, 313 Court Street, Plymouth. The interment will follow the Mass at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of one’s choice.
