Tagliamonte, David M., 75, of Duxbury (formerly of the Pinehills, Plymouth), died peacefully on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Pat Roche Hospice House in Norwell.
Known to all as “Dave” or “Tag”, he was born in Salem, MA on January 24, 1947 to Anthony V. and Marie C. (Bufalino) Tagliamonte. Dave grew up in Lynn, MA and attended Lynn English High School where he played saxophone in the school band. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam conflict.
Dave’s formal education included B.A. in Economics, University of New Hampshire (1968); MBA Babson College (1975); and M.S. in Accountancy, Bentley College 1983. He worked as a Financial Officer in several non-profit organizations such as the Controller of Malden Hospital; CFO of Caritas Home Care, and finally as CFO with the Norwell VNA & Hospice. His proudest achievement was his role in developing the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham.
Dave had a lifelong passion for golf and music. He learned to play golf as a caddy and enjoyed playing many courses throughout New England. He was a member of the Pinehills Glee Club, Snug Harbor Community Chorus (Duxbury) and the Fine Arts Chorale (Weymouth).
He leaves his devoted wife, Eleanore (Willis) Tagliamonte, brother, Paul A. of Colchester, Vt., his wife Casmera (Soroka), nieces Andrea and Ariana, and nephew Adam.
Dave and Ellie were married for 47 wonderful years. They have many fond memories of playing tennis, golf, hiking, skiing, and bicycling at their vacation home in Thornton, NH. They also loved to travel; favorite destinations being Italy, Istanbul, Vienna, and the Canadian Rockies. While Dave had his music, Ellie began watercolor painting and became active in the Pinehills Art Society.
We are grateful to the doctors and nurses at Beth Israel Deaconess Plymouth, especially Matthew Koomey, M.D., for their extraordinary dedication and care and to the entire staff of Norwell VNA and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Norwell VNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061 in Dave’s memory would be greatly appreciated http://nvna.org/ .
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend service on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 1:45 p.m. at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
