Obituaries
David F. Parker, age 85, a lifelong resident of Plymouth, passed away on Thursday, June 1st, at the BID Hospital in Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of 63 years to Patricia (Lamond) Parker. Loving father of Denise Parker-Bridges of Mashpee, and Jeannine Thompson and her husband David of Plymouth. Grandfather of Sheila Ilyinskii and her husband Alex of Foxboro, and Julie Pickette and her husband Tom III of Reading. Great grandfather of Tommy and Leon. David is also survived by his brother; Dennis Parker of Kingston, sister in-law; Joan LaRue and her husband Al of Manomet, as well as nieces and nephews.
Born in Plymouth on January 18, 1938, son of the late Francis and Lena (Balboni) Parker. He was a graduate of Plymouth High School class of 1956. Later that same year while working at Cooper Drug, Patricia walked in to buy mosquito repellent while camping with friends. David followed them back to Ellis Haven and the rest was history. The two were married in 1959 and raised their beautiful family in Plymouth. After a few years of working for General Dynamics, David decided to change his career and started working for New England Telephone (Verizon). Following his retirement from Verizon in 1992 he began a part time job as the custodian for the Plymouth Public Library. David was passionate about maintaining his property and grounds. He loved to play corn hole, and cards. He loved attending the SCAT card game with his group at the mall.
A visitation will be held at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court St (North) Plymouth on Tuesday, June 6th, from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm. Followed by a service in the funeral home at 12:00 pm. Burial will take place in Manomet Cemetery. Donation in David's memory may be made to the Plymouth Public Library, 132 South St. Plymouth MA 02360.
