David S. MacPherson of Plymouth, died peacefully in his home with his family at his side on Friday September 23rd. He is the beloved husband of Jennie M. (Stewart) MacPherson. Born in Boston August 28, 1930, son of the late Chester and Helen (Woods) MacPherson. He was educated in Boston and went on to serve his country in the US Air Force serving during the Korean conflict. David later began his career as a truck driver working for McKesson Drug. He was a member of the Teamster Union Local # 25. After his retirement from truck driving he worked for Verc Car Rental Company. David loved fishing and western movies but more importantly he adored spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Jennie. He is also survived by his son Richard S. MacPherson and his partner Laurie Donlan of Plymouth, his daughters Barbara Finch and her husband Paul of Pembroke, Carol Kinsman of Texas, Jennifer MacPherson of Westwood, and Christine Mortara and her husband Christopher of Plymouth. He was the father to the late David and Robert MacPherson..
Cherished grandfather of 17 and great grandfather of 19.
Visiting hours in the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home 619 State Rd. Plymouth (Manomet) on Thursday September 29th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Funeral Service on Friday September 30th at 11: 00am in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the MA. National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or stjude.org
