Obituaries
David F. Galligani, age 84, of Plymouth, passed away on Tuesday, January 17th, at his home in Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of 60 years to Ellen (Curran) Galligani. Loving father of the late Mary Ellen Boisvert and her husband Michael of Plymouth, Ann Marie Galligani of Easton, and Joanne Galligani of East Bridgewater. Grandfather of Philip, Joshua, Jeffrey, Jamie, Grace, Lauren, and Chloe. He was also the brother of Thomas Galligani and the late Frank Galligani.
David was born in Cambridge on November 6, 1938, son of the late Frank and Anne (Gallagher) Galligani. He grew up in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. He served his nation in the Massachusetts National Guard Yankee Division. David worked for the MBTA for over 25 years, first as a bus driver then as a payroll clerk. Upon retirement, he drove a school bus for the City of Woburn.
David loved to run and play baseball. He was on his high school track team and later became a member of the Velocity Track Club. He went on to be nationally ranked with the U.S. Track and Field Masters Division. David also loved music. He played numerous instruments including the saxophone and clarinet.
A visitation will be held at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd. Plymouth (Manomet), on Monday, January 23rd, from 4:00 pm till 7:00 pm. A Mass will take place the following day at St. Bonaventure’s Church, Plymouth (Manomet), at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow.
